Cantons of Luxembourg

The cantons of Luxembourg are the administrative units under the provinces. There are a total of twelve cantons in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. These cantons are also divided into communes with a total number of 116.

Twelve Cantons of Luxembourg

Luxembourg is divided into twelve cantons under three districts.

1. Clervaux

The canton of Clervaux is one of the administrative units of Diekirch, located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The center and the most populous city of the canton is Clervaux of the same name. The canton itself is divided into 8 communes. These communes are: Clervaux, Consthum, Heinerscheid, Hosingen, Munshausen, Troisvierges, Weiswampach and Wincrange. The area of Canton is 331 square kilometers. The canton has a population of 13,030 and has a population density of 39 / square kilometers.

2. Diekirch

The canton of Diekirch is one of the administrative units of the province of Diekirch in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The center and the most populous city of the canton is Diekirch. The canton itself is divided into 12 communes. These communes are: Bettendorf, Bourscheid, Diekirch, Ermsdorf, Erpeldange, Ettelbruck, Feulen, Hoscheid, Medernach, Mertzig, Reisdorf and Schieren. The area of Canton is 204 square kilometers. The canton has a population of 27,634 and has a population density of 140 / square kilometers.

The canton of Redange is one of the administrative units of Diekirch, located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The center and the most populous city of the canton is the city of Redange of the same name. The canton itself is divided into 10 communes. These communes are: Beckerich, Ell, Grosbous, Prรฉizerdaul, Rambrouch, Redange, Saeul, Useldange, Vichten and Wahl. The area of Canton is 267 square kilometers. The canton has a population of 14,499 and a population density of 54 square kilometers.

4. Vianden

The canton of Vianden is one of the administrative units of Diekirch in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The center and the most populous city of the canton is the city of Vianden of the same name. The canton itself is divided into 3 communes. These communes are: Putscheid, Tandel and Vianden. The area of Canton is 78.52 square kilometers. 5. Wiltz

The canton of Echternach is one of the administrative units of the Grevenmacher province in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The center and the most populous city of the canton is the city of Echternach of the same name. The canton itself is divided into 8 communes. These communes are: Beaufort, Bech, Berdorf, Consdorf, Echternach, Mompach, Rosport and Waldbillig. The area of Canton is 185.54 square kilometers. The canton has a population of 18,899 and a population density of 100 / square kilometers.

7. Grevenmacher

The canton of Grevenmacher is one of the administrative units of the province of Grevenmacher in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The center and the most populous city of the canton is the town of Grevenmacher of the same name. The canton itself is divided into 8 communes. These communes are: Betzdorf, Biwer, Flaxweiler, Grevenmacher, Junglinster, Manternach, Mertert and Wormeldange. The area of Canton is 211.37 square kilometers. The canton has a population of 21,972 and a population density of 100 / square kilometers.

8. Remich

The canton of Remich is one of the administrative units of the Grevenmacher province in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. 9. Capellen

10. Esch-sur-Alzette
