Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world. Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans, which are the seeds of berries from the Coffea plant.

First of all the genus, Coffea is native to tropical Africa (specifically having its origin in Ethiopia and Sudan) and Madagascar, Comoros, Mauritius, and Réunion in the Indian Ocean.

Firstly people exported the plant from Africa to countries around the world. It is now cultivated in over 70 countries. (Primarily in the equatorial regions of the Americas, Southeast Asia, India, and Africa)

Dried coffee seeds are roasted to varying degrees, depending on the desired flavor. Furthermore, roasted beans are grounded and brewed with near-boiling water to produce coffee as a beverage.

It is interesting that some clinical studies indicate moderate coffee consumption is benign or mildly beneficial in healthy adults. In addition on whether long-term consumption inhibits cognitive decline during aging or lowers the risk of some forms of cancer.

1. Café Le Procope, Paris (1686)

Café Le Procope is the oldest cafe in Paris. Sicilian chef Francesco Procopio dei Coltelli opened the cafe in 1686. Furthermore, it has a traditional cuisine in addition to its place full of history.

2. Caffè Florian, Venice (1720)

The Florian’s first name was “Alla Venezia Trionfante”. However, after the cafe started work it became known as “Caffe Florian” after its original owner Floriano Francesconi. In addition, it is one of the oldest coffee shops working still.

3. Caffè Greco, Rome (1760)

The Caffe Greco is the oldest bar in Rome. Furthermore, its name comes from its Greek owner.
