Colors and the Meaning of the Ivory Coast Flag
The Flag of Ivory Coast consists of orange, white and green colors that divide the flag vertically from left to right in three equal parts. The orange color on the left side of the flag symbolizes the savannas in the north of the country, while the green on the far right represents the dense forest areas in the south of the country. White in the middle of both colors represents the unity of the north and south of the country.
The flag of Cote d’Ivoire resembles the Irish flag and only the orange and green colors are replaced.

The French protectorate of Côte d’Ivoire in 1844 and later in 1904, as part of French West Africa, became a French colony in 1893. The flag used in this period was a blue-white-red French Flag with three vertical stripes. It remained this way until Côte d’Ivoire became an autonomous republic in the French Community in 1958 and accepted the current three-lined orange-white-green vertical flag. The flag that was adopted in 1959 has continued to fluctuate from the date of this date up to the present day, to the civil servants ‘tables, to the school and university courtyards, and to all the official buildings in the presidents’ vehicles.

The coastal regions are tropical and semi-continental climate prevails in the northern regions. In the summer there is hot weather. It is temperate and dry from November to March, hot and dry from March to May, hot and humid from June to October. Good restaurants offer the possibility of tasting food at an affordable price. Garba and Alloco are among the national dishes. Fish are also consumed abundantly.
