Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh is a new state separated from Telangana. The state has 2 capitals officially. When it was formed first Hyderabad; the capital of Telengana, was thought to be shared by two states. However, later Amaravati became the capital of the state.

Andhra Pradesh covers 162,970 kmland area, and it is the 8th largest state in India. The largest city in Andhra Pradesh is Visakhapatnam. State’s population is 49,386,799 and between 29 states of India, it is the 10th most populous city.  The state’s official language is Telugu.

Arunachal Pradesh

A large part of the state is governed by China and it is called as “South Tibet” by the Chinese people.

The capital of the state is Itanagar. Itanagar is also the largest city of Arunachal Pradesh. The state covers 83,743 kmland area and it is the 15th largest state of India.

Its population is 1,382,611 and it is the 27th most populous state of India. The official language of the state is English.

Assam

Covering a 78,438 kmland area it is the 17th largest state of India. Dispur is the capital and Guwahati is the largest city in the state.

Its population is 31,205,576 and it is the 15th most populous state of India. The official language of Assam is Assamese.

Assam is known for Assam silk and Assam tea.

Tourism is one of the most important sources for the state’s economy. Assam preserved many of the wild species like as, tiger, wild water buffalo, pygmy hog, Asian elephant and many of the Asiatic birds. Kaziranga National Park and Manas National Park World Heritage Sites are the most significant tourist attractions of the state.

It is the third most populous state in India with its 103,804,637 population. It covers 94,163 kmland area and 13th largest state of India. Patna is the capital and the largest city in the state. The official language of Bihar is Hindi. In addition, Maithili and Urdu are the other languages that are spoken in Bihar.

Chhattisgarh

Covering 135,198.5 km2 land area it is the 10th largest state of India. It is the 17th most populous state in the country with its 25.5 million population. Its capital is Naya Raipur and the largest city in the state is Raipur.  The official languages of Chhattisgarh are Hindi and Chhattisgarhi.

Goa

Goa is known for its white sand beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture. Every year many international and domestic tourists visit the state for its tourist attractions.

Gujarat

Haryana

Haryana covers 44,212 km2  land area and it is the 21st largest state of India. Its population is 25,353,081 and it is the 18th most populous state in the country. Its capital city is Chandigarh. Also, Faridabad is the largest city in the State. Hindi and Punjabi are the official languages that are spoken in the state. In addition to Hindi and Punjabi, English is the other language that is spoken in the state.

Himachal Pradesh

Covering a 55,673 km2  land area it is 18th largest state of the country. Its population is 6,864,602. In addition, it is the 21st most populous state. The official languages of the state are Hindi and English.

Kerala

The official language of Kerala is Malayalam. The capital city of the state is Thiruvananthapuram. Furthermore, Kochi is the largest city in the state.

Madhya Pradesh

Maharashtra

Maharasthra covers 307,713 kmland area in total. Furthermore, it is the 3rd largest state in the country. It is the second most populous state in India with its 112,372,972 population in total. The official language of the state is Marathi. Mumbai is the capital and also the largest city of Maharasthra.

It is the wealthiest state in India by the advanced industrial growth it has.

Manipur

Manipur is the 24th largest state of India by covering a 22,327 kmland area in total. Its population is 2,855,794 and it is also the 24th most populous state in the country. The official language that is spoken in the state is Meitei. Imphal is the capital and the same time the largest city of Manipur.

Mizoram

Meghalaya
